At VidCon, the annual conference for influencers, digital creators, and online brands, Spotify sought to create a personalized experience for users to discover music attuned to their psyche. We developed a digital experience inspired by a tarot card reading, where each user would be paired with a playlist based on a small questionnaire about their music preferences. To begin the experience, users would enter their information to receive their Audio Tarot as well as answer 4-6 music-related questions. We designed 6 tarot cards and built a companion playlist for each, all inspired by feelings and moods that music can inspire: emotional, rebellious, calm, passionate, motivational, and optimistic. Each user was paired with 3 tarot cards and given a dive deep into their psyche, with info about what their tarot cards reveal about their musical preferences. Users could share their cards on social and access custom playlists on the Spotify app.
